Four people are reported to have been killed and more than 20 injured in a cable car accident in western India. The cable carrying the cars up to a hilltop temple in Gujarat snapped, causing three cars to fall, according to police quoted by the Associated Press news agency. Dozens of people remain trapped in other cars that have been left hanging in mid-air, said Narsinh Komar, police chief of Godhra district. The 5.8-kilometre (3.6 mile) cable way carries devotees to a temple at Pawagadh, about 180 kilometres (110 miles) north of Ahmedabad, the commercial capital of Gujarat.
