Forks&Corks: Cheese Cake

Ingredients: Ѕ pack biscuits, 2 tbs sugar, 2 tbs butter or margarine, 2/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup flour, 1 tbs corn starch, 1 vanilla sugar sugar, 250 g cream cheese, 1 cup cream, 2 eggs, 3 egg whites, ј kg sugar, 1 small jar of cherry jam.

Instructions: Grease a cake pan with removable walls with butter and dust with flour. Mix the crushed biscuits, the butter and the sugar. Spread this mixture on the bottom of the cake pan and smooth it slightly with a spoon. In a big bowl mix 2/3 cup sugar, the flour, the starch, the vanilla and the cream cheese. Stir with a mixer, add the eggs one by one and then the cream. In another bowl whisk the egg whites until they become like snow, adding carefully ј cup sugar. Add them to the rest of the mixture and stir carefully. Pour the mixture into the cake pan and bake at 180 C for about 55 minutes. Take the cake out, leave it to cool and with knife separate it from the walls of the pan. Put the cake into the refrigerator for 5-6 hours. Serve the cheese cake with cherry jam.
