Bulgarian Team Advances to Handball European Quarterfinals

The women handball team of Pirin (Blagoevgrad) qualified for the quarterfinals of the European women Challenge Cup tournament. On Sunday it defeated Ukrainian Karpati (Uzhgorod) 25-22 /14-7/. The Bulgarian team won its first match Saturday 31-22. Top scorers for Bulgaria's Pirin were Vanya Stoilova /8/, Roumyana Stanoeva /6/, Vyara Peneva /5/. Pirin President Hirsto Kovachki announced that a couple of new players may be recruited by the team.
