Bulgaria Hosts World Windsurfing Championships in 2004

Bulgaria will host three World Windsurfing Championships next year - Mistral Youth, Aloha Juniors, Raceboard Men and Women, Prof. Kamen Filyov, chairman of the Bulgarian Sailing Federation said. "This is a great recognition for us, because this will be the first World Championship ever organized in the Black Sea, Filyov said. In his opinion this is a great opportunity for making a world promotion before the Olympic Games in Athens 2004, to take place a month after the championship. The cost of the three world championships organization is set at EUR 110,000. The Bulgarian Sailing Federation will cover the expenses, additional aid is expected from the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The championships will take place simultaneously from July 31 till August 8. Bulgaria was selected among Italy, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey.
