President Rumen Radev will begin his first foreign trip as head of state on Monday, leaving for Brussels for talks with EU and NATO officials.
Radev, a former Air Force commander, will fly on board a military transport plane instead of the government-owned Airbus in order to cut costs, the presidency's press office says.
The visit will continue through Tuesday.
Its schedule includes meetings with the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker, the President of the European Council Donald Tusk and the President of the European Parliament.
At NATO headquarters, Radev will meet the Secretary General of the alliance Jens Stoltenberg.
The new president will also visit the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) near Mons.
