Bulgaria: Code Yellow Declared for 12 Regions BGNES

Code-yellow has been declared on Thursday in 12 regions in western Bulgaria, reported the National Institute of Metereology and Hydrology.

The lowest level of warning is in force for the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Lovech, Gabrovo, Sofia, Sofia-region, Pernik, Kustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik and Plovdiv.

Snow depth there is expected to reach 10-15 cm. Snowfalls  are expected to become heavier on Friday (January 6).

Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry has warned that it expects a serious deterioration in weather conditions in northern Bulgaria and there is real danger for the regions of Smolyan  and Pazardzhik.

The Interior Ministry calls on citizens to not travel, unless necessary.
