Turkish administrators of the Istanbul High School have downplayed reports of a ban on Christmas celebrations, Daily Sabah argues.

It was the renowned school's German department that cancelled the Christmas celebrations, they are quoted as saying.

Earlier, it was reported that any inclusion of Christmas, which falls this Sunday, had been cleared from the curriculum, and celebrations and songs dedicated to the Christian holiday had been banned at the school.
