Bulgaria: Bulgaria's Political Vacuum, Economic Gains Reviewed in FT Report

Bulgaria is witnessing a rise in the auto-parts industry and braces to end reliance on Russian gas, but faces problems like shortage in skilled IT cadres and political vacuum at the top, the Financial Times says in an annual report about the country.

The four-page Investing in Bulgaria report, published on Tuesday, deals with a host of issues, from the political deadlock and forthcoming caretaker government and president change to energy, the startup scene, the auto-parts industry, real estate, and the gap between education and market needs.

It sums up the progress of Bulgaria and EU partners on cross-border pipeline routes and other projects that will reduce dependency on Russian gas.

It also offers scenarios about the future of Bulgarian political affairs and perspectives for several industries, also including a success story about a Bulgarian start-up that turned into a leading climbing gyms manufacturers.
