Bulgaria: Bulgaria's Prosecutor's Office To Indict Afghani Man for Setting Bulgarian Flag on Fire BGNES

The Specialised Prosecutor’s Office has started an investigation against a foreigner who set the Bulgarian flag on fire during the disturbances at the migrant centre in Harmanli.

“We have made it possible to bring in the person who set the Bulgarian flag on fire in Harmanli to the Specialised Prosecutor’s Office. The Specialised Prosecutor’s Office has been informed because this is denigration of the flag of the Republic of Bulgaria,” announced Rumyana Arnaudova, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General.

Arnaudova specified that the detainee is an Afghani citizen; his identity is known but will be announced later.

Arnaudova ssured that, if evidence of committed crimes is collected against the 400 foreign citizens detained on Thursday, the Prosecutor’s Office has the resources and the capacity to indict all of them.

“We will discover who is a witness and who has committed a crime,” added Arnaudova.
