The European Commission stopped working entirely on November 24 after it website and servers were attacked, reported BTA.

In the early afternoon of Wednesday, the first wave of a huge number of requests to access the Commission’s website, sent at the same time, was detected. This resulted in an overload of the institution’s servers.

As a result of the attack, the commission’s staff stopped working due to lack of access to the Internet. So far, the institution has not reported whether they have discovered where the attack came from.

The European Commission announced that the attack has been dealt with successfully and there has been no information leakage. Confidential files have not been accessed
