Bulgaria: Lufthansa Pilots Strike Continues, 10 Flights Cancelled BGNES

The strike of pilots working for German carrier Lufthansa will continue on Friday as well. Flights of the company to and from Sofia on Friday have been cancelled, announced Sofia Airport.

A total of 10 flights have been cancelled – 2 to Frankfurt, 3 to Munich and 5 to Sofia.

Thus, the strike of Lufthansa pilots will continue three days, although it was initially announced that it will last 24 hours only.

So far, over 1,800 have been affected.

The strike was caused by the demand of syndicates for an annual increase in wages by an average of 3.7% over a period of five years.

On its part, Lufthansa offered an increase of 2.5% and this resulted in the pilots’ strike.
