Bulgaria: Bulgaria's Govt Sends 10 More Troops to NATO Mission in Kosovo File photo, BGNES

The Bulgarian government has given the green light to a deployment of 10 troops to a mission of NATO in Kosovo.

Sofia will contribute to the intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance battalion of the NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR), which nowadays involves several thousand troops assigned with maintaining safety, security and freedom of movement.

"The participation of our country is in accordance with the Alliance's effort to stabilize Kosovo and achieve a long-lasting solution to problems which Kosovo's state institutions are facing," the government says in a statement, adding the decision "matches the strategic interests of Bulgaria in stabilization of the region."
