Boyko Borisov Votes with a Paper Ballot: Is there a Functioning Machine, or Have They Run Out?
Boyko Borisov chose to cast his vote with a paper ballot in Bankya today.
Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has reiterated his intention to step down if the candidate proposed by his party doesn't win the presidential elections.
"I have already said this - if we don't beat [everyone], we are gone," Mediapool quotes him as saying during a visit to a southern Bulgarian town.
Previously, he has made it clear he will quit in case his party's candidate, Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva, doesn't garner the biggest number of votes in the first round which is due on November 06.
In his latest comments, Borisov has not explicitly commented whether a loss of the presidential seat (now taken by Rosen Plevneliev, who was elected as GERB's nomination) would also mean the demise of the cabinet.
His words come as several polls have predicted a win for Tsacheva in the first round but a defeat in the second one.
