Bulgaria: Turkey Declares Day of Coup Attempt Public Holiday BGNES

The Turkish Parliament has declared July 15 – the date of the unsuccessful coup attempt against President Recep Erdogan – a public holiday.

The purpose of the decision is to honour the victims of the coup attempt, reported Haberturk.

July 15 will be defined officially as “a day for honouring the people who died in the coup attempt”.

During the coup attempt, 300 people died and another 2,000 were injured.

According to Turkish authorities, the coup attempt was organised by the cleric Fethuallah Gulen and his network of supporters.
