Bulgaria: US-Based Start-Up Co-Founded by Bulgarian Raises USD 29 M

A San Francisco-based mobile marketing company says it has raised USD 29 M in funding to add new members to its team and embark on an aggressive global expansion.

Leanplum, co-founded by Momchil Kyurkchiev and Andrew First, appeared after the two left Google in 2012. There are 10 people on the team of the company's Bulgarian office, news website Dnevnik.bg reports.

The funding has come from several investors, namely Canaan Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield&Byers and Shasta Ventures.

Total funding drawn by the company amounts to USD 46.3 M.
