Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is expected to announce his party's candidates for president and vice president on Sunday.

The event will follow months of silence on behalf of his party, conservative GERB, which has repeatedly declined to reveal the names.

GERB has been determined since since early in the summer not to announce its presitendial pairs early, finally setting the date October 02.

Presidential elections are due on November 06. The deadline for registration of presidential candidates expires on October 04, with the campaign set to begin afterwards.

This week, GERB deputy head Tsvetan Tsvetanov confirmed in a response to a journalist's question that there was 99% certainty for the presidential candidate to be Parliament Speaker Tsetska Tsacheva, Deputy PM Tomislav Donchev, Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova, or Burgas Mayor Dimitar Nikolov.

He denied reports Borisov would seek to run himself.

A Bulgarian website name Terminal 3 reported that, according to its own sources, Tsacheva will be the candidate.
