Bulgaria's national football coach Ivaylo Petev has turned down an offer from Dinamo Zagreb, a leading Croatian club, according to private broadcaster bTV.

However, the Bulgarian Football Union's President Yordan Lechkov has said Bulgaria will have a new coach within a few days.

Earlier, daily 24 Chasa reported that Petev has agreed to work for Dinamo Zagreb, citing Croatian sources.

Media reports have already suggested Dinamo Zagreb is interested in hiring the Bulgarian coach.

But Croatian news outlet Sportske Novosti quoted him as saying: "Let's say it's 90% [sure] I will be the new coach of Dinamo."

Petev is expected to leave the Bulgarian national team "today" (Monday) and to arrive in Zagreb and arrange some details with regard to the contract by the end of the week.

In case he takes over Dinamo, it is not clear who will work with the Bulgarian national team, leading it through the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
