Serbia does not back the construction of border fences to stop migrants arriving from Bulgaria and Macedonia, Prime Minister Aleksandar Vu?i? has said.

The head of government, however, has told Serbian broadcaster RTS that his country has to react to the increased inflow.

"I am the only one who doesn't want us to erect fences. But Serbia doesn't want to be a parking for refugees either," Vu?i? has made clear.

He has warned that the thousands of migrants, "very aggressive boys" mostly from Afghanistan residing in Serbia, cause "a lot of trouble, mostly in Belgrade."

Vucic has added that the decision not to put up border fences has brought him "moral satisfaction".

His remarks follow last week's statement by Labor Minister Aleksandar Vulin, who argued that Serbia was planning to erect fences at the borders of both Bulgaria and Macedonia. Belgrade had already decided, back in July, to deploy joint military and police teams to patrol along the borders.

The remarks by Vulin came just a day after Vu?i? himself had been in Bulgaria for a meeting with counterpart Boyko Borisov and Hungarian PM Viktor Orb?n.
