Bulgaria has the 60th best result in the Rio Paralympics, the final ranking shows.

With one gold medal, won by Ruzhdi Ruzhdi in shot put F55 category, the country's result is similar to that of Bahrain, Kuwait, and Georgia, each having scooped one gold medal.

This has been the first gold medal for Bulgarian paralympic athletes since 2004.

In London, for years ago, it ranked 59th with three medals (two times silver and a bronze). In 2008, the Bulgarian paralympics athletes won one silver and one bronze medal and came 60th in the final ranking.

The best results were those of China (107 gold medals), the UK (64), Ukraine (41), the US (40), Australia (22), and Germany (18). Further down the top 10 are the Netherlands (17), Brazil (14), Italy (10), and Poland (9).
