Bulgaria: Bulgaria's Crime Rate Decreases BGNES

The crime rate in Bulgaria is lower, showed statistical data presented by Interior Minister Bachvarova.

A total of 62,489 crimes have been registered from January until August – a decrease of 10.33%, compared to the same period last year. Solved cases were 26,356, compared to 23,270 for 2015. Solved crimes are up by 8.8%.

There is a decrease in robberies – 14.82% and in thefts – 17.79%. The Interior Ministry also reported that 5.35% more crimes against property have been solved than in 2015.

Telephone shams are down by 31%, added Bachvarova. In the first 6 months of the year, 18 telephone conmen have been arrested.
