Plovdiv is the most dangerous city in Bulgaria in terms of traffic-related accidents.
This became clear from Road Police data presented by Interior Minister Rumyana Bachvarova in a written answer to a deputy’s question.
According to the data, the population of Plovdiv is less than 700,000. In the first 8 months of 2016, there have been 715 traffic-related accidents, 52 people have died and 890 have been injured.
By comparison, Sofia has a population of about 1.5 million. In the first 8 months of 2016, there have been 740 traffic-related accidents. 28 people have died and 912 have been injured.
