Bulgaria: Emergency Declared in Bulgaria's Topolovgrad over Wildfire File photo, BGNES

Authorities in the southeastern Bulgarian town of Topolovgrad, Haskovo region, have declared a partial state of emergency for the village of Balgarska polyana and its surroundings, public broadcaster BNR reports.

As many as 10 000 decares of land have been caught by a fire that broke out Tuesday.

Dozens of resident have been evacuated, Topolovgrad's Deputy Mayor, Nasko Stoyanov, has said.

Some 100 firefighters, volunteers and at least 15 vehicles have been fighting the flames since Tuesday.

Three have been detained in relation to the wildfire.
