Bulgaria: Bulgaria with seventh score at rhythmic gymnastics all-round event qualifications in Rio EPA/BGNES

The Bulgarian national rhythmic gymnastics team found a place among the top 8 teams to compete in the final all-round stage at the Rio Olympic Games Saturday.

Reneta Kamberova, Mihaela Maevska, Tsvetelina Naydenova, Hristiana Todorova and Lyubomira Kazanova, who substituted Tsvetelina Stoyanova, demonstrated excellent craftsmanship in their routine with 5 ribbons.

Unfortunately, due to several mistakes in their second routine with two hoops and three clubs, they dropped from their initial fourth position.

Team Spain showed excellent routines in both rotations and secured the first spot, right in front of the most-likely gold medal winners from Russia. The third spot is for team Belarus. Israel, Italy and Japan.

Scores from the qualifying round will not count toward the final stage, where the competition will start anew and all teams have an equal chance for a place on the podium.
