A cold front will result in cloudy weather and temperatures lower than expected, weather authorities say.

There were heavy showers over Western Bulgaria during the night of Thursday into Wednesday that will continue in the country's east on Friday.

Maximum temperatures will range between 21 and 26 degrees Celsius

Along the Black Sea coast, sunny weather will prevail until midday, according to the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).

Strong winds are expected in five of Bulgaria's 28 regions. These include Kardzhali, Haskovo, Stara Zagora, Sliven, and Yambol, where NIMH has issued a Code Yellow warning.

Bad weather across the country is to last through Saturday.
