Bulgaria's weather service has issued a Red Index warning in sixteen out of twenty-eight regions of the country for Thursday, August 11.

These include mostly Eastern and Southern Bulgaria, Pleven, Lovech, Ruse, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Razgrad, Silistra, Dobrich, Shumen, Varna, Stara Zagora, Sliven, Haskovo, Yambol, Kardzhai, and Burgas.

The forecast of the National Institute for meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) predicts risk of fire will be small over the next two days, spreading only to several regions in the east.

There have been hundreds of forest fires across the country since the end of July.
