Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan dismisses EU leaders' move to warn against a suspension of his country's membership bid in case the death penalty is reintroduced.

Ankara abolished capital punishment in 2004, in line with EU requirements, as it had been granted candidate status a few years earlier.
