FlixBus Expands Routes from Bulgaria: New Connections to Thessaloniki, Athens, and More
FlixBus, the renowned European bus company, is set to launch new routes to and from Bulgaria in anticipation of the summer season
Between January and April 2016, Bulgarian exports to the EU exceeded BGN 9.5 B, recording an increase of 3.3 % compared to the same period last year.
This is revealed by preliminary figures of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) released on Monday.
The main trading partners of Bulgaria were Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece, France and the Netherlands, which together accounted for 69.3 % of all Bulgarian exports to the EU member states.
In April alone, Bulgarian exports to the EU exceeded BGN 2.5 B, which represented an increase of 5.5 % compared to the same month in 2015.
Compared with the first four months of last year, the greatest increase was registered in the exports of chemical substances and products as well as foods an live animals, while the greatest drop was recorded in the export of mineral fuels, oils and similar products.
Bulgarian imports from the EU exceeded BGN 10.5 B in the first four months of this year, registering a decrease of 1.3 % compared to the same period last year.
The greatest volume of goods was imported from Germany, Italy, Romania, Greece and Hungary.
In April alone, Bulgarian imports from the EU exceeded BGN 2.6 B, which represented a decrease of 6 % compared to the same month last year.
Compared with the first four months of last year, the greatest increase was registered in the import of soft and alcohol beverages and tobacco, while the largest drop was recorded in the import of unprocessed (raw) materials not suitable for consumption (excluding fuels).
Between January and April, Bulgaria's balance of trade with the EU was negative and amounted to BGN 953.9 M.
