The Vatican has published an article admitting for the first time that Pope Pius XII, could have done more for Jews persecuted in the second World War. Pius XII was the leader of the Catholic Church between 1939 and 1958. The official publication of the Vatican said he was not a Prophet and claims he underestimated the problem within the camps because he could not believe it was true. Over the years, critics have also repeatedly accused him of remaining silent throughout the persecution. But supporters say the Nazis were sent over 60 official protests from the Vatican.
