Moderate gales at a speed of 14-15 m/s are expected throughout much of Bulgaria on Thursday, the national weather services says.

There will be occasional gusts reaching 20 m/s.

A Code Yellow warning has been enforced for parts of southern, north-central and northwestern Bulgaria, according to the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH) with the Bulgarian Academy of Science.

As many as 15 out of 28 regions in Bulgaria are under the alert. These include Haskovo, Kardzhali, Smolyan, Pazardzhik, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo, Lovech, Sofia, Sofia-Region, Pleven, Vratsa, Montana, and Vidin.
