An Iraqi man has been shot in the knee in an area near the center of Bulgaria's capital Sofia.

The man has been taken to hospital and his life is out of danger at the moment, Focus News Agency reports, citing police sources.

A dispute between him and another Iraqi citizen was what caused the incident, he is quoted as saying.

The shooting took place in a neighborhood where many nationals of North Africa, Iraq and Afghanistan reside and where occasional scandals result in injuries.
