Bulgaria's Bokova Enters Politico's List of People 'Shaking the World'
UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova has been included in the Politico28 list of European people "shaking the world.
"Successful Bulgarians abroad are the country's best ambassadors. They can make sure that foreigners wish to come to Bulgaria as well. We have to create the conditions for these dreams to come true in the country - a stable economy, infrastructure, tech parks, a state that is up-to-date. Although we do have some temporary delays and deviations, we are moving in this direction, and over the past years [have been doing so] with much confidence."
MEP Eva Paunova commenting, in an interview with daily 24 Chasa, on the prospects of Bulgarians starting to return to the country in the near future. More than 2 million Bulgarians are thought to have left the Southeastern European nation over the past 26 years.
