GERB Has Not Discussed Nominating Kristalina Georgieva for Bulgarian President

The nomination of European Commission Vice-President Kristalina Georgieva as candidate of Bulgaria's largest ruling party GERB to run in the forthcoming presidential elections in the autumn has not been discussed.
This was stated by chairperson of the GERB's parliamentary group and former interior minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, in an interview for private bTV station on Tuesday.
Meanwhile also on Tuesday, the mayor of Sofia and deputy chairperson of GERB, Yordanka Fandakova, said that she does not intend running for president.
Fandakova, who was reelected to a third term at the local elections last year, pointed to all the work she had set out to do at the municipality.
GERB has already decided on its candidate for president and vice president, but the party refrains from revealing the names and gender of the candidates.
Being recognisable enough and not needing a long campaign, GERB's candidates will be announced in September.
Incumbent President Rosen Plevneliev announced in May that he will not run for a second term due to personal reasons.
