One lane of the Georgi Sofiiski street in the centre of the capital is closed to traffic and in the next two years two-way traffic will be carried out in the newly constructed narrower section. New road signs, markings and traffic lights have already been put in place.
Also on Tuesday, repair works began on the Vladimir Vazov boulevard in the 5.2-kilometre section between Chavdar bridge and Botevgradsko shose boulevard. The repair works will be carried out at stages.

A total of ten bridges and overpasses and one underpass along Vladimir Vazov boulevard will be completely reconstructed.
Vladimir Vazov and Botevgradsko shose boulevard will be resurfaced and there will be also renewal of the pavement, lighting, horizontal marking and road safety elements.
Until the end of July, the southern lane of Vladimir Vazov boulevard will remain closed to traffic and two-way traffic will be carried out in the northern lane. After that the northern lane will be closed to traffic.
There have been changes to the route of public transport operating in the area. The routes of bus lines 78 and 100 and trolleybus line 1 have been redirected to northern lane of the Vladimir Vazov boulevard and the location of several bus stops has changed.
