Bulgaria ranks second after Belgium by lack of correlation between its education system and the requirements of the market, EU Commission Vice Presdident Kristalina Georgieva warned on Saturday.
Georgieva told reporters while attending an event in her home country that the EU could help by providing funding and expertise if Bulgaria takes steps to solve the problem.
"Fourteen percent of university graduates cannot find a job, therefore universities produced unemployed people," the Bulgarian National Radio quotes her as saying.
Georgieva, who is in charge of budget and human resources at the EU Commission, said the government should work to improve teachers' training, but also to boost their role in society.
