Torrential rainfall and thunderstorms can be expected across Bulgaria’s western half late on Friday and early Saturday, the country’s weather forecast service has warned.
Precipitation of between 20 and 35 liters per square meter can be expected in 12 of the country’s 28 regions, for which Code Yellow warning about potentially dangerous weather has been issued, according to the 24-hour forecast.
Clouds will start to increase from the west on Friday afternoon with light to to moderate winds from the east and southeast. Weather will be cloudy along the Bulgarian Black Sea coast as well but no rain is expected there.
The maximum air temperatures on Friday are expected at 19 to 25 degrees Celsius.
Weather will be mostly cloudy on Saturday with rain expected mostly in the country’s southwestern regions.
