Platinum Lion 16-3, a joint exercise of NATO troops, has been launched on Monday at Novo Selo training range, in southeastern Bulgaria.
The one-week military drill, part of Black Sea Rotational Force 16.1 training exercise, involves about 315 troops, including 90 from Bulgarian ground forces, 150 from the U.S. Marine Corps as well as 25 from the Romanian Army, 40 from the UK armed forces and – for the first time - 11 from the French Army.
The participating troops will conduct training in offensive and defensive operations in a joint multinational environment, the Defence Ministry inn Sofia said in a statement on Monday.
