Bulgaria: Macedonia 'Denies Entry' to Journalists of Bulgarian Daily

One of Bulgaria night's biggest mass-circulation dailies has said a team of three journalists working for it has been barred from entering the country.

The development reportedly occurred on Thursday evening, when police, after seeing a camera and a laptop in the team's car, told them they needed "permission from the Foreign Ministry".

After waiting for two hours, the three journalists working for 24 Chasa ("24 Hours") were asked to sign an entry ban, on the ground of "doubt" they will work in breach of work regulations.

Documents are shown in 24 Chasa's own story [BG] purportedly showing the ban.

The development happens amid a series of protests in Macedonia that follow a controversial decision of President Gjorge Ivanov to grant amnesty to dozens of politicians involved in a massive wiretapping affair.
