Bulgaria Grapples with Soaring Corruption Rates: New Report Reveals Shocking Data
Corruption in Bulgaria has soared to its third highest peak in history, according to a recent report by the Center for the Study of Democracy
Seven entries were shortlisted to proceed to the next stage of the national competition that is to select the new tourist logo of Bulgaria, the tourism ministry informed on Friday.
A total of 183 proposals were submitted in the competition, but after a two-day discussion a professional jury of nine established art and design experts selected only seven to make it to the next stage.
The selected entries fulfill the technical and art criteria. Most of them rely on a combination of a drawing and typography and depict symbols of importance to Bulgaria.
The seven shortlisted entries will be exhibited for a week in the building of the tourism ministry where people can familiarise themselves with the proposals.
The seven proposals have also been published on the website of the ministry and its social media accounts so that a maximum number of people can get to know the proposals and express their opinion.
A draw is to take place which will determine the representatives of the tourist sector and media which will participate in the wider jury that will select the winner at the end of April.
The public jury also includes representatives of the tourism ministry, the Bulgarian marketing association, the Bulgarian association of communication agencies and the Bulgarian association of PR agencies.
The holding of the national competition for a new tourist logo aims to achieve sustainability in implementing the European project for development of a strategy for a brand of Bulgaria, which ended in 2013.
The competition is organised with the assistance of the Natioanal Art Academy and the Union of Bulgarian Artists.
The tourism ministry will not expend any additional budget or public funds on the competition.
The winner will be invited to devise the so-called brand book with the graphic concept and the requirements for the use of the graphic vision amounting to BGN 10 000.
