FlixBus Expands Routes from Bulgaria: New Connections to Thessaloniki, Athens, and More
FlixBus, the renowned European bus company, is set to launch new routes to and from Bulgaria in anticipation of the summer season
A new protest against the recent ban on beach camping took place in the centre of the Bulgarian capital on Monday evening.
Around 200 protesters blocked for half an hour the passage of traffic through the key junction at Eagles' bridge by setting up an improvised camping with tents and campers.
The participants in the protest are discontent with the ban passed by parliament last week, which prohibits camping and parking at a distance less than hundred metres away from the beach or the coast.
The protesters claim that the ban does not explicitly prohibit construction on the coast and are calling on President Rosen Plevneliev to impose a veto on the ban.
They are threatening to stage more permanent protest in case the president fails to impose a veto.
The discontent citizens pointed that protests have succeeded in halting the construction plans at the beaches of Koral, Karadere and Irakli.
The participants in the protest on Monday also expressed their discontent with the plans for the construction of a second lift in the ski zone of Bansko.
The procession passed by the building of parliament and the Council of Ministers and stopped in front of the presidency.
A protest was held last week shortly after parliament had voted in favour of the ban, which foresees the imposition of hefty fines for those violating it.
