Bulgarian police have detained six people dealing in production and sale of fake identity documents, the Ministry of the Interior said on Monday.

The criminal activity of the group was uncovered after police found fake identity cards, blank Bulgarian passports as well as chemicals and printing equipment equipment for making those documents at the home of a 40-year old man from Shumen, in northeastern Bulgaria.

Police also found evidence of the criminal activity of the group during searches conducted in Shumen, Sofia, Veliki Preslav, Burgas and Kaspichan on March 5 and 6, the ministry said.
