Bulgaria: Traffic Resumes on Section of Line 2 of Sofia Metro after Incident

Traffic has resumed between Beli Dunav and Maria Luiza stations of the Sofia underground railway, the city hall said on Monday.

“Traffic has been restored as of 2 p.m.”, Sofia municipal authorities said in a statement.

The movement of trains was suspended in the section of Line 2 between the two stations in the western part of the city earlier on Monday after a man jumped in front of an approaching train at Beli Dunav station.

The man had been taken to hospital in very serious condition, according to Nova TV broadcaster. 

The reasons for the incident which took place between 11.00 and 11.30 a.m. were not immediately known.

Police has launched an investigation.
