Bulgaria: Man Reportedly Jumps in Front of Underground Train in Sofia

A man reportedly jumped in front of an underground train in the Bulgarian capital on Monday.

The incident occurred at the Beli Dunav underground station as the man jumped in front of the train going in the direction of the city centre.

The man is believed to have not survived the impact, private NOVA TV informs.

The movement of trains in the section between the Beli Dunav and Maria Luiza stations is temporarily suspended for an indefinite period of time.

The police is working on establishing the circumstances leading to the incident.

According to the chief of Sofia Metropolitan, Stoyan Bratoev, recordings from security cameras showed the man waiting at the station before jumping in front of the approaching train.
