At least five people have been killed and 10 injured after a bomb exploded in the central part of Turkey’s capital Ankara on Wednesday.
The blast, believed to have been caused by a car bomb, took place near the armed forces' headquarters, parliament and government buildings.
The blast targeted military service buses as they waited at traffic lights at the evening rush hour, according to a statement issued by the Turkish military, newswires reported.
Omer Celik, a spokesman for the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), wrote in Twitter that the explosion was an "act of terrorism," according to todayszaman.com.
Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has cancelled a planned visit to Brussels after the blast.
