An abandoned building dated 1987 considered part of Veliko Tarnovo's heritage collapsed in the northern Bulgarian city on Sunday.

Once used as a metochion with the Transfiguration Monastry, north of the city, it was left to crumble decades ago.

No-one was injured during the incidents, public broadcaster BNT reports.

There are several hundred buildings in the local administration's cultural heritage list.
