Major crossings at Bulgaria’s border with Greece remained fully or partially closed to traffic on Sunday morning, the Interior Ministry has announced.

Passage at Ilinden-Exochi crossing is blocked completely.

Kulata-Promachonas, where a queue of trucks as long as 30 kilometres is said to have formed over the past few days on the Greek side of the border, remains closed for cargo vehicles, the Interior Ministry said on its website. The queue of trucks on the Bulgarian side of the border was estimated as about 10 kilometres long on Saturday.

Makaza-Nymphaea crossing is blocked by queues of motor vehicles on both sides of the border.

The border crossings at Zlatograd, Ivaylovgrad and Kapitan Petko Voivoda are open to all traffic.

A blockade of Greece's land border with its neighbours has been in place since the end of January with farmers protesting against a planned pension cuts and other austerity measures Athens had agreed with international lenders in exchange for a third bailout.
