Bulgaria's Dafovska Third in Women's Biathlon Sprint

Bulgaria's Ekaterina Dafovska ranked third in a women's 7.5 km biathlon sprint on Friday. At the competition in Swedish town Ostersund - a round of the World Biathlon Cup, she arrived at the finish point 5.8 sec. after winner Linda Tjoerhom from Norway. Second is Russia's Svetlana Izhmuratova. Bulgaria's other female biathlonists did not rank among the first ten. Bulgaria ranked third in the women's World Cup relay on Wednesday. The Bulgarian quartet, featuring Kadeva, Filipova, Dafovska and Karagjozova, covered the 24 kilometers nearly 2.5 minutes behind the Russians, who combined perfect shooting with fast cross-country skiing to win the relay. Second came the quartet of German.
