Among the main topics of discussion were the ongoing migrant crisis in the EU and threats to security, the government's press service informs.
Borisov and Herrmann agreed that Europe has to make efforts in dealing with the pressure exerted on the Union.
They expressed satisfaction with the signing of a joint declaration on police cooperation, which foresees deepening of the partnership in the area of security.
The document was signed by Herrmann and his Bulgarian counterpart Rumyana Bachvarova at a ceremony on Thursday.
The goal of the document is to activate police cooperation at professional level in areas such as countering terrorism and controlling illegal migration.
