The highest ranking Bulgarian male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov reached the final of the Apia International tournament which is taking place in Sydney.

In a match from the semifinals played on Friday, Dimitrov defeated Gilles Muller from Luxembourg with 6:2, 7:6 (4).

This was the second match of the Bulgarian for the day after he had to complete the quarterfinal against Alexandr Dolgopolov which had been interrupted due to rain on Thursday.

Although Dimitrov did not have much time to recover between the two matches, he started the semifinal well and easily won the opening set by recording two breaks.

In the second set, the Bulgarian continued with his excellent performance, managed to win the tie-break and to claim the final victory in less than two hours.

In the final, Dimitrov will face the winner from the encounter between Teymuraz Gabashvili (Russia) and Viktor Troicki (Serbia).
