Bulgaria has witnessed a bustling winter tourism season, with a total of 1.8 million tourists gracing its picturesque landscapes from December 1 to March 25
The Kremlin has dismissed a Bulgarian media report of a possible resumption of talks over the construction of the South Stream gas pipeline in the coming weeks.
“Such a project doesn’t exist at present. It has been terminated. Therefore, there is no subject for negotiations,” the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Interfax.ru on Tuesday.
Peskov's comment came in response to an article in Monday’s edition of Bulgarian daily newspaper Standart that Russia allegedly was set to revive the project in a few weeks’ time.
Russia's Energy Ministry announced on Monday that South Stream was still a "halted" project for Moscow. The press office of the government in Sofia has also denied the media report that talks on the construction of South Stream would be renewed.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in December 2014 that Moscow Russia can't implement the South Stream project because of opposition from the European Commission.
