Bulgaria's weather service has issued a yellow code (lowest degree) warning for fifteen of the 28 regions of the country due to expected heavy winds and ice.

Sub-zero temperatures are expected to continue for a few days more as weather forecasts suggest and end to the recent cold spell by the end of the week.

Formation of ice on roads is expected in the regions of Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Lovech, Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse, Targovishte, Razgrad and Silistra, according to the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology (NIMH).
